A Single Man

I'm dying to see this. I've heard Colin Firth is amazing, not to mention it's directed by Tom Ford. Yes Please.

A weakness for beards

Bon Iver has been on heavy rotation for me for at least the past year. He has such a beautiful voice and I couldn't imagine anything better to listen to on this cold, brisk afternoon.
Enjoy.

possibiliTree

When Jenn was here visiting we got on the subject of alternative Xmas trees. I'm not talking plastic, fake smelling, white, tinsel trees. I don't know that I could ever go down that road. It's hard to imagine Giving Day without a nice blue spruce or doug fir, but these make it a bit easier to swallow...

Guernica

Guernica has always been one of my most favorite Picasso pieces. I loved dissecting and analyzing it in my art history classes. I was always so moved by the tragedy of war it depicts, not to mention the symbolizism of Spain's struggle during that time.
Here's an interesting interpretation of the painting:

Has anyone ever seen it in person? I would die to.

*Thanks R for sending this my way

bootie trap

I've been on the hunt for some little granny ankle boots for sometime. Searching high and low on etsy and ebay for the perfect vintage pair. No luck :(
So then I found these hotties:
It's really hard to turn down a pair of Jeffrey Campbells, especially when they're this great. They fit great, they looked great, they even smelled great. But the price tag wasn't so great. So I told my favorite shoe guy at Nordies "I'd think about it". (for whatever reason I can't ever tell them "no" there, I don't want to hurt their feelings)

So I came to grips with the fact that maybe there just wasn't the perfect pair of little pixie, granny, ankle booties for me in this world.

Then came along these bad boys:

exactly what i've been looking for and only 20 bones!
thanks Etsy!

Viva La Glam

Robb & I are deep into Mad Men right now. That's all that's been in our netflix queue as of late. (except for this little gem that should be arriving tomorrow)
It has really sparked my love for red lips and nails. Growing up one of the things I remember about my grandmother was her bright red lips and long red fingernails. She seemed so glamorous to me. Now I'm not one to shy away from nail polish of any color, but I have to admit I never thought red lips would look good on me. I always admired other women for rocking the red, but I was too scared I'd look like a clown or a hooker. But then all the red lips in Mad Men were so sexy, I just had to give it a try and guess what? It's not nearly as scary (or scary looking) as I thought! It took a bit to find the right shade(s) but I've got a couple that I love. 1. Mac- Viva la Glam 2. Revlon- Matte Lipstick, Strawberry Suede

Penelope does red right

the one and only Joan Halloway

let's face it, she looks good with anything

Just Another Love Story

I've been wanting to see this since it was in the theaters. It's up next in our netflix queue and I'm so looking forward to watching it this weekend. Has anyone seen it? Is it as great as I think it's going to be?
